I picked up my camera that had been gathering “dust’ and “cobwebs” in one corner a couple of days ago and was like “boy have i missed you”! Life happens and it can sometimes feel like you are unable to keep up and yes there has been plenty of tears along the way! In those moments, it makes sense to relax, “be still” and just keep putting your best foot forward… I am learning to do that… it isn’t always easy but we continue to try….
Ema (my mum) said she woke up this morning, opened the windows for some early morning fresh breeze and had to ask herself afterwards “who sent me”? Because inside was cooler from the air-conditioning being on temporarily so at 7.30am, the air was already hot and humid! An hour later though, it became cloudy and then really windy and just like the very few rains we’ve had in the past week, the rain will come, “voke”, “vex”, “voke”, thunder, lightning, wind everywhere, water enter house sef, “still yet”, when the sun comes out in the morning, O chiputa mbor! Hotter than ever so tey it is no longer dripping with sweat but swimming in it! Kai!
So i was reading a Facebook post by a Muslim friend who currently lives abroad and she was more or less saying that she was grateful she was raised in Nigeria otherwise she would have believed Easter was all about eggs (and bunnies i might add)…. That made me laugh out loud but really, isn’t it is so true? Slowly too, i see this whole perception about Easter being about eggs and bunnies taking root here in Nigeria. It is already happening….
A few days ago, i was chatting with a dear friend and reader who was reminding me of something i had written months back and it occurred to me that i don’t always take the time to say thank you to my readers…. Thank you so much for taking the time to read from me, thank you for stopping by, thank you for clicking that read “here” in my subscriber emails! It means so much to me and it is because you keep coming back, that’s why i am always encouraged to pick up that camera to snap and then the pen to write (more like pick up that laptop to click away :-))! Thank you! 🙂
